Meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED. This course is for the occupations of Camp Counsellor, City of Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon seasonal employee, Hospitality Industry, Restaurant, Security Guard, Taxi Driver and Early Childhood Educator.
Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR with AED
Basic one-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses. Course is designed for those in the early childhood education industry as well as for parents/caregivers. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED. This course is for the occupations of Day Care, Parent and Caregivers.
Standard First Aid & CPR-C with AED
Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED. This course is for the occupations of Canadian Border Services, Electrician, Joint Health and Safety Committee, Lifeguard, Message Therapist, Personal Support Worker, Pharmacist qualification for Injection Program, Dental Hygienist, Police, Physician, Registered Nurse, registered Practical Nurse, Firefighter Pre-Service and Paramedic Pre-Service.
Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR with AED
Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses. Designed for those in the early childhood education industry or those who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies involving children and babies. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED. This course is for the occupations of Child Care Worker and Teacher.
Recertification
Re-Certification is ONLY permitted for those who have a previous certificate issued within 3 years. Proof of certification is due on the day of the course (within the last 3 years) and it MUST be a Canadian Red Cross certificate. Re-Certification is only permitted once for every full certification.
Baby Sitting
The Babysitting course, refreshed and revised, now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills. The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving the appropriate care in the event of an emergency.
Blended Courses
Emergency First Aid & CPR-C as well as Standard First Aid & CPR-C courses are also available as Blended Learning Course. Each Blended Learning course is divided into two components. Participants must first complete the self-paced online component, which includes the written knowledge evaluation, and then completes an instructor-led classroom component that includes the skills practice and evaluation session. Please note that the classroom component must be completed within six weeks of completing the online component.
